for rex ryan the view a little different, after all the years on the right sideline he saw the real deal last night from across the field. >> one buck, we're talking a dollar. could turn a nice profit for you this evening perhaps. just imagine right after 11:00 tonight you'll be living on easy street. >> oh. >> would be nice. mega millions is huge. linda so is live with dreams, big dreams of striking it rich. you mentioned this tropical storm forming danny. danny dan devito, danny kaye. as soon as you mention a named storm -- danny. >> i got to say it hasn't been named yet. this is all speculation but we're watching an area that has good likelihood north of the caribbean islands near the bahamas that could get a name in the next day or two and that could ride up the east coast. it does have an impact on the weekend forecast especially from baltimore to ocean city. first of all let's start with those of you that go to school

on tuesday morning, we have a few days to sort this out. 61 mount airy. 65 sykesville at piney ridge elementary school. kids going back to school. feels good with 69. that's a big spread from one side of mount airy to the other. we're virtually clear this morning, a little patchy fog but otherwise we've got a lot of sunshine, relatively low humidity and high of 88 this afternoon. a hot one but shouldn't be too oh -- oppressive. let's check the roads with kim. >> for friends in anne arundel county, route 50 at route 97, route 50 looks good towards the capitol beltway and northbound 97 is running nicely if you're headed to the beltway beltway. no problems -- baltimore beltway. no problems on the major roads, however, intersections closed, saratoga closed between mlk and greene streets because of the watermain break, that is in effect for several weeks. try pennsylvania avenue as an alternate. and bel air road between perry hall roads and miller roads remains closed because of

downed trees and wires in the road. harford road is probably your best alternate there. as you look at the jfx at cold spring lane traffic is moving nicely in both directions. back to you. we're coming up on 6:02. it took a while. we had the speculation, all the rumors and blogs. >> now we know michael jackson was killed by a bad combination of drugs. that is homicide in police talk. that's what they are saying this morning. sherrie johnson has more. >> reporter: after months of investigation los angeles authorities ruled michael jackson's death was indeed a homicide. the coroner found a fatal combination of propofol and two other sedatives in his system. dr. conrad murray, his personal physician, administered the drugs. murray told investigators he was trying to wean jackson off of propofol. murray tried to induce sleep without it and tried other drugs to help him sleep and says jackson asked for the more powerful drug propofol and he gave it to him. murray says at that time he

left jackson so he could make a few phone calls. when he returned his patient was not breathing. >> if the coroner is in fact calling it a homicide then i expect that an arrest could in fact be imminent. >> reporter: the coroner's finding of homicide makes it more likely criminal charges will eventually be filed against dr. murray. the jackson family issued a statement saying the family looks forward to the day that justice can be served. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. baltimore county police say a man found shot to death over the weekend may have been killed by someone that he knew. 51-year-old scott greenberg's body was found saturday night at his parent's home by his ex-wife. that home is along velvet valley weigh east of owings mills. apparently his wife was going to drop off their children, when she got there it didn't look like anybody was home. police say greenberg was shot in the house but there was no sign of forced entry and the home had not been robbed.

howard county police have arrested an elderly man charging him with the county's first homicide in nearly a year. officers were called to an assisted living community on cedar lane in columbia last monday for a reported assault. investigators say 87-year-old earl wilder was sitting outside, began to strike 91-year-old james brown in the head. police say he was not provoked. brown died on saturday. the agent for undrafted raven rookie tony fein says his client was profiled by police this weekend. 27-year-old linebacker was arrested sunday night after police say he was assaulted -- or say he assaulted, rather, a city police officer. a security guard at the light street pavilion called police after seeing fein give what he thought was a gun to a friend. turned out to be a cell phone. investigators say fein then shoved a city police officer. fein's agent says he was profiled. some fans gangering before the game had different views. >> don't dress the bad part. cooperate and they'll let you go if you have nothing to fear.

simple as that. >> it was probably an overreaction. the police came down because of what happened last week, overreacted again but it's business as usual. i've been facing this since i was a kid. >> fein is due to appear in court october 7th. the nation's car dealers have to noon today to submit paperwork for the "cash for clunkers" program. the government was forced to extend monday's deadline because of the computer problem. last-minute shoppers filled the area showrooms monday night. sharon sharon cunningham spent weeks trying to find a deal for her 18-year-old mercedes, got a call around 6:00 and a few hours later she and her husband were handing over the keys. >> we have three sons in college. we have an 18-year-old mercedes we love dearly but has 250,000 miles on it so we welcome the opportunity to get a little help getting another car. >> shutting it down early would have been easy for us, would have saved us overtime for the clerical staff but a lot of people would have been left out

that could have otherwise qualified. >> the darcars dealership took in more than 1,500 clunkers and are owed more than $6 million from the federal government. a new study says the h1n1 flu virus could cause up to 90,000 deaths in this country if it resurges this fall as it's expected to. the report by presidential advisory panel urges speedier production of a vaccine for the flu and the availability of some doses by september as students start to head back to school. it's happening soon. the trials continue at the university of maryland but at this point there is no vaccine available. on the first day of school for kids in anne arundel county parents and school administrators are very concerned. trials on children began last week but the timetable for producing mass doses still points to mid-october. the parents get their kids getting into the swing of things, it's a lack of information that remains on many minds.

you may have heard stories of a thousand-dollar ambulance ride of someone to the hospital who is critically injured. >> but when the unthinkable happens in this state the cost of getting to the hospital quickly may surprise you. we get a look at maryland's emergency medical system. >> reporter: 1970, the maryland state police aviation command platoond the first civilian medevac ever transporting 300,000 patients on our helicopter in the past 30 years. >> my name is dick gelfman, i was in a head on collision, person coming in the other direction, apparently fell asleep or was otherwise distracted and crossed the center line. >> reporter: about 8,000 missions a year. of the 8,000 missions about 5,000 are medevac missions. we can get a patient within 25 minutes, we have over 90% chance of getting that patient to a trauma center within what

we call the golden hour. >> i wouldn't be here right now if i hadn't been flown out. >> the emergency medical resource center, the hub of our statewide communications system, where calls come to when helicopters are requested. >> number three is in route. five minutes. two patients. first patient, 44-year-old female. >> maryland has the best medevac system in the world. there are people who come from other countries to see what maryland has done. >> i never got a bill for the helicopter ride. it's an amazing thing. >> in our system we don't charge any patients to transport. it's paid for by a surcharge on vehicle registrations. >> we have a system that works. we have choppers that take people no matter where they are. it's not a question of who it is that is injured, not a question of whether the person is a child, a adult, bad guy,

good guy, cop, crook. it's not that kind of a question. it's a question, here's a person in need we got to get them care. that's what society ought to be doing. >> good stuff. let's look at weather with justin berk. good morning. >> good morning. we'll start off now with temperatures across the area, looking at 65 degrees, ranging from the 50s back west. some 70s showing up in the big cities of new york, even towards norfolk, hanging on to the muggy stuff at 76 degrees but for the most part we've actually cleared out and taken down the humidity quite a bit and really nice comfortable start to the day. nice and cool, even patchy fog for some of you but generally a westerly wind with high pressure in control, will keep us on the cry side for today. we build it back wider and you can see high pressure carving out most of the east coast pushing that old frontal boundary well off shore and even out of the way of the outer banks for the most part. high pressure will dominate our weather for a few days. we'll get to return warm flow as soon as tomorrow, building

temperatures back into the 90s. then things get a little interesting. want to take you off on down towards the south and the bahama islands there. this is the eastern fringe of the caribbean, the island of hispaniola over towards puerto rico. this is what we are looking at now. called al-92, a developing tropical depression that the national hurricane center has given basically a 30% to 50% chance of developing, the possibility that some models take this to tropical storm status as soon as tomorrow. it would be named danny if it happens, big if here. the models and some other mid-range models picking this off the east coast. and very close to ocean city come saturday morning. we'll watch this thing. looks like if anything we have the possibility of getting really wet weather here by the end of the week and into the weekend. today though not like that. looking at sunshine, low humidity, 88 degrees, it should be a comfortably hot day, good day at the pool for those of you that don't have to go to school. 66 tonight, could be morning fog.

use caution if you're traveling the outer loop in that area. as we look at the jfx at 41st street, traffic is moving without incident. if you're looking for a business you know you can trust, let your better business bureau do the work for you. go to abc2news.com/bbb. back to you. a day of fun in the pool for a 3-year-old girl and her family turns out to be anything but. a terrible situation in florida. the toddler got her arm stuck in a pool duct and rescuers had to cut the pool away from her. you can see the mom holding the daughter's head above water as crews use power tools to free her. she was takening to the hospital with the drain system pipe still on her arm. doctors were able to cut out the pipe of the girl's arm. she's doing fine this morning but she did lose her hand. a sad story there but at least she's ok. the first day of school can make even the strongest kid a little nervous. >> how some four-legged friends are help ease that first school day jitters.

she lost her wallet but never seeing it again. a story that proves there are still good people in the world. first vinita nair with business news. >> good morning. we begin your "moneyscope report" with a second term for fed chairman ben bernanke. this morning president obama will nominate ben bernanke for another four-year term. he's widely credited for his bold and creative action in helping steer the economy through its worst financial crisis since the great depression. economists and wall street have been calling for ben bernanke's return. the president's decision ensures continuity in the government's efforts to revive the economy. it is too late to cash in on "cash for clunkers" but car dealers are getting an extension to file their paperwork. they now have until noon today to file for their reimbursement checks. the government extended the deadline because the rush to get the paperwork done monday caused computers to crash. general motors iconic logo will soon be disappearing from

the side of its vehicles. the silver gm corporate logo will be gradually phased out in the 2010 model year. the decision puts more emphasis on the automaker's four core brands, chevrolet, buick, cadillac and gnc. gas prices have ticked down for the second week in a row but probably won't stay down long. the average price fell a penny last week to a national average of $2.56 a gallon, but oil prices shot up, more than 10% in the past week which will likely drive pump prices higher. a sign of the times during this back-to-school season. k-mart says a record number of shoppers are relying on the retailer's layaway program to pay from everything from cloafnlging to notebooks and more. layaway typically picks up around the holidays but with shoppers cut from credit or short on cash they are relying on it for basic needs. and coming up on "good morning america," bernard madoff's other secret. an exclusive interview with the woman who says he was hiding

6:25. we got a couple of nice days here, sunshine, low humidity and will heat up after a comfortable morning. our two-degree guarantee gets us to 88 degrees. probably going to be staying in the mid-80s north in carroll county when the kids go back to school. nice day to go out and play when you finally break free. tonight, back in the mid-60s and patchy fog tomorrow morning. 92 tomorrow. then we step back thursday and friday. then we watch that system i showed you a few minutes ago.
